Show FUNERAL HELD FOR RSTE1ENS Tho Second ward meeting house ! was completely filled yesterday after-iioon after-iioon by a great concourse of sorrowing sorrow-ing relatives and friends, who assembled assem-bled to pay a last tribute of respect to the memory of Mrs. Albertluo Stevens, Ste-vens, a pioneer in the faith of the Latter-day Saints. The funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock, with Bishop Robert Mc-Quarrle Mc-Quarrle in charge. Several beautiful selections wero rendered by the ward choir, and David Reese assisted In the music with the solos, "Faco to Faco" and "Oh, My Father." Among tho speakers was Bishop O. H. Berg of Provo, who became acquainted ac-quainted with tho late Mrs. Stevens while he was engaged in mission work in the woman's native homo in Denmark. Den-mark. This was forty-six years ago. aud the veteran churchman spoke In the highest terras of the woman. He dwelt on her strength of character, told of her long service In the Intor-c-ts of the church, and painted a beautiful picture of the peaceful close lo a life of servlco and Christianity. Other speakers at the service were Daniel Stevens,. T. S. Browning, George Browning, President C. F. Mid-dieton Mid-dieton and Bishop McQuarrle. ' There was a profusion of beautiful floral offerngs, and a large number of those In attendance at the services also accompanied tho remains to the Ogden City cemetery, where the interment inter-ment was made. |
