Show MITCHELL IS HELD BY COURT C B. Mitchell was arraigned berorc Judge Murphy this morning on the charge of grand larceny, and the court bound him over to await preliminary prelim-inary hearing, his bond being fixed at $500, The complaint alleges that, on July 2. Mitchell entered a room in a boarding board-ing house and brol into the trunks of Mr. and Mrs. David Crockett and stole therefrom wearing apparel, Jewelry Jew-elry and other things valued at 12.". Mr. and Mrs. Crockett had gone to the northern part of Utah on their ' wedding tour and had left some of their trunks in storage at the rooming bouse until their return. When they came back and opened their trunks they found that nearly everything of value bad beeu stolen. The officers were informed of tho thoft. Part of the goods were found in Mitchell's possession and In court '. this morning he stated that he took part of the things, but that he thougnt he ought not to be held accountable for all of them.. H is understood that the defendant's brother Is implicated in the theft. He is now in the northwest north-west country'f presumably at Seattle., |
