June 29 Willard Thompson, the partner of William Brlnghurst in the commission of various vari-ous robberies aud crimes, including the robbery of the Clift house gambling gam-bling rooms and the attempted 10b-bery 10b-bery of the Layton bank, appeared before be-fore Judge T. D. Lewl6 at 12:15 today, to-day, pleaded guilty to Ihe charge of robbery, committed at the Clift house May 24, and waiving all rights, was im.rnediatcly sentenced by the court 'a) 20 years In the state penitentiary. , As the words "twenty years" fell from the lips of the court, all the signs of hope, all the prospects of life's joys, seemed to fade from the countenance of the convicted robber.
