Anderson for porno t!ro& chief clerk In the offleo of the car service ser-vice department of tho Oregon Short Iino and of the Southern Pacific system sys-tem east of Sparks, Nov., has been, promoted to the position of car service serv-ice agent, succeeding A. K. Hrewer, recently appointed superintendent of tho Utah division of tho Oregon Short Line. A circular announcing the appointment appoint-ment was Issued from tho office of General Superintendent J. M. DavU of the Short Line, and approved by W. II. Pancroft, vice-president anl general manager. The appointment gooB into Immediate effect. Mr. Anderson entered tho rallroai service in 1S93, taking a petition In the ofllce of K. L. Imax, general passenger pas-senger agent of the Union Pacific at Omaha. The following year he came to Utah, entering the office of J. H. Young, then superintendent of th3 Utah division of the Union Pacific. Two years later he was made secretary secre-tary to W. H. Bancroft, then general superintendent of tho mountain division divi-sion of the Union Pacific, with headquarters head-quarters in Ogden. la May, 1902, Mr. Anderson was appointed chief clerk to E. E. Calvin, who was assistant general manager, and upon Mr. Calvin's Cal-vin's departure for Portland went Into In-to the office of E. Buckingham.
