Show JUDGE FREEMAN BELIEVES HE MADE A MISTAKE Chicago, Jan. 14. In a letter to Governor Dcneen, pleading for two life convicts in .Toilet penitentiary, Judge H V. Freeman says he believes be-lieves he sentenced innocent men, and asks that the pardon board make reparation re-paration bv freeing them The prisoners, Thomas McNally and Charles Kurth, have been in the penitentiary peni-tentiary nearly sixteen years. They, with a companion, Edward Warren, were convicted of the murder of Jas. Pruniy and his son Peter, in Novem- bc-r, 1S13. Warren died In prison sev- eral years ago. It is not known what led Judge Freeman to change his mind as to the guilt of the men. |
