Prager, 16 years old. who, after retiming from California lu the early sixties, purchased much New York real estate, died at his home from apoplexy. Henry Sargent Crandell. who was among the first to go to California in 1K-I0. died In a Sanitarium at the ago of S.: years. While In California, he became a close friend of William M. Stewart, leader of the famous vigilance vigil-ance committee, and there met and became the Hfe-Iong friend of William Wil-liam Tecumseh Sherman. Mr. Cran-1 Cran-1 dall was one of the' founders of the Republican party in the state of New York, and held several important government gov-ernment positions. |
