The morning session of police court consisted of a number of drunks, vags, mendicants, and several forfeitures tor untied teams, opium smoking, etc. George Tracy, who pleaded guilty Tuesday to mendicancy and whose case was continued to today, received a fine of ?10 or ten days. Peter Wren pleaded guilty of drunkenness drunk-enness and was. given the customary fine of $5 or five days. U. C. Kelly was arraigned on the charge of vagiancy. He pleaded guilty guil-ty and the officers were asked regnrrt-ing regnrrt-ing his short-comings. Chief Browning Brown-ing testified that the man's greatest fault seemed to -bo an occasional thirst for booze. The court then told Kelly to go his way, suspending a 90-day 90-day sentence on condition that he get to work or leavo town. G. Lovel admitted that he had indulged in-dulged in more liquid refreshments Tuesday than he could get home with and was glren the customary' hue of $5 or five days. Weseuan Stefan, who was arrested Tuesday for mendicancy, claimed that hi6 feet were frosted and that the court would bo forced to excuse him today. His case was, therefore, ordered continued although the "cold feet" Idea was not a new one with those who were acquainted with the Individual. Ed Fern scowled wickedly when charged with mendicancy, evidently thinking that the word meant a new kind of brain-storm. It was explained to him that he was suspected or having hav-ing begged from his fellow men. Thus enlightened, he promptly admitted the oilense and was given a 10-day sentence. sen-tence.
