Show NINE MEN1 ALIVE. Body of One Dead Man Is Taken From the Shaft Seattle. Feb. 24. The nine men Imprisoned Im-prisoned in a sewer tunnol cave-in on the grounds of the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific exposition grounds since 9:30 o'clock yesterday morning, were liberated lib-erated at 6:50 this morning, and the body of one dead man was recovered.. At least one moro corpse is known still to be buried In the shaft Those released are: John D. Harrington, miner; Daniel Horan, miner; W. Gregory, concrete worker; John Mahoney, concrete worker; Thomas McNamara, miner; Martin Vissers, concrete worker; Dan McGlnnls, carpenter; 'J. QuIUen, concrete con-crete worker. . Tho dead aro: Duncan Robertson. August Stangcl. Missing: F. W. Jones, may be in the debris. The liberated men showed clearly the great strain to which they had been subjected, and as they crawled and wero half dragged from the 6haft, the scene was dramatic. The rescued and rescuers crowded about each other oth-er to grasp hands, while the tears coursed down tho cheeks of the men. |
