Uncertainty still shrouds the mystery of tho fiendish fiend-ish killing of little Annie Poltera, the search for whose slayer has engrossed en-grossed tho attention of hundreds of officers and citizens since tho finding of her dead body a week ago in Griffith Grif-fith Park. Ben Elliott, the 18-year-old youth of Tropico, who was the strongest suspect sus-pect in the case. Is held in the county coun-ty Jail today, whence he was brought last night from Redondo following his arrest there for stealing a boat. Elliott El-liott is said by the authorities to have confessed to a number of triri-ing triri-ing burglaries and thefts ln the Tropico Tro-pico district .which he said he committed com-mitted because he wanted food. .He was arrested at Redondo for stealing a boat Elliott said he had read in the papers that he was wanted for the murder of Annie Poltera, and be-! be-! coming alarmed, he had stolen a boat i and put out to sea without destlna-j destlna-j tlon. After getting six miles out. he I became deathly seasick in his small i craft and was brought back to land j by some fishermen. |
