Show FOURTH OF JULY IN OGDEN IN 1909. f A good old-fashioned Fourth will be enjoyed by the people of Ogden. The day will open with a salute to "Old ' Glory." As the sun sends a ray of ; light to crown Mt. Prometheus to tbe north of Ogden, tho cannon will thunder thun-der forth, announcing to the 6mall boy that his day of days has been lshered in with due regard for his vo of noise. I J In the morning there will bo exer- j cises at the Fair grounds, and in the afternoon The Horribles will parade with grotesque faces and odd costumes borrowed for the occasion. At night the Fair Grounds will be brilliantly lighted, and, far out in the field enclosed by tho raco track, an expert will commence a bombardment of the sky with skyrockets, bombs and f aerial monsters. I This evening a committee of citi- ions, headed by Albert Scowcroft, will I meet at the Weber club to outline the ; work to he performed between now ' and the morning of July 4, in order that Ogden shall be second to none in proclaiming its patriotism. This committee com-mittee will make possible ono of the i most enjoyable Fourths In tho history ; of Ogden. J There is not much spare time be-I be-I tween now and the Fourth to prepare . for the natal day, but fcy putting en-j en-j ergy into the arrangements the cele- bration can be made a huge success. |
