Show I SALT LAKE AND 1 STATE NEWS TRIBUTES TO THE LATE JUDGE HENDERSON Salt Lake, June 7. Praises of the man for his kindliness were poured out at the funeral of Judge H. I. Henderson, at the First Presbyterian church, Sunday afternoon. Preacher and layman, Judge and lawyer, paid tribute to the charity or the late jurist. With song, speecn and prayer they lauded him as one or the gentlest, but withal, one of the strongest men that Salt Lake City has ever known and honored. The Rev. Elver I. Goshen, pastor ot tho First Congregational church, counded the keynote or the funeral services when he read a passage from Apostle Paul's writings on charity, "Though I speak with the tongue ot angels and have not charity, 1 am as sounding brass." The Rev. Dr. W. M. Paden, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, ano C. S. Varian, former United States attorney, laid particular stress upon this trait of the deceased jurist. The late Judge Henderson's great performances per-formances in public lite, his steadfastness stead-fastness in the cause of morality these wero subordinated to extolling the kindness of the man's nature. The services began at 5 o'clock, fol- ! lowing the removal of the body, under escort of the Knights Templar, Utah commandery No. 1, from the undertaking undertak-ing establishment or I). Evans. Covered with wreath after wreath of roses, the casket was borne rrom Evans' chape! to the hearse. Then tho march to tho church began, bur-j bur-j rounded by the active pallbearers, who consisted of Judge W. H. King, E. M. Allison, Jr., W. M. Bradley, A. (J. Ellis. Jr., W. J. Uarreite. E. li. Critchlow and James H. Moyle or Salt Lake City, and U. C. Richards or Ug den, tho hearse moved north on South State street, preceded by the Knignts Templar in full regalia, with swords at rcverso arms. Ahead of tho knights marched Held's bond, playing the 'Dolores" dirge, which was changed shortly before be-fore the church was reached to "General "Gen-eral Sherman's Kunernl March." Behind the hearse came the carriage car-riage of the mourners and those containing con-taining the honorary pallbearers, who were: Judge Jacob S. lioronian ot Ogden, Judge C. S. Zane. Judge it.
