Show FINE HOME SAVED FROM DESTRUCTION BY FIRE Tho fine new bungalow home of II. K. True, 2561 Fowler avenue, was the scene of a blaze this morning which, for a time, threatened Us total destruction. de-struction. Mrs. True noticed smoke in the kitchen shortly after eight o'clock o'-clock and upon going to the basement entrance, discovered tho woodwork of the basement on fire. She Immediately Immediate-ly turned in an alarm by telephone and then gave her attontion to subduing sub-duing the flanies In person. H. M. Robinson, who lives across the street from the True home, noticed the es-caplng es-caplng smoke and rushing into tho house endeavored to extinguish the flames with several buckets of water. The fire had gained considerable headway, however, and his efforts 'were without avail, but with the arrival ar-rival of tho fire department, the flames were soon under control. About $300 worth of damage was done to woodwork wood-work and house furnishings, fully covered cov-ered by insurance. It is thought that a defective flue of the furnace was the cause of the fire. |
