Show TWENTY-EIGHT TONS OF VERY RICH ORE Twenty-eight tons of ore from the Cumberland mine at Maiden. Mont of which Peter Rosse if superintendent superinten-dent and part owner, netted $7,150 at the Panhandle smelter, where It Is reported to be the richest ore yet handled at the plant. The ore was, hauled 20 miles by team and then shipped by rail to Idaho. The property prop-erty was discovered by Rosse, who four years ago Interested R, M. Calkin, Cal-kin, now general traffic agent for the Chicago, Milwaukee & Puget Sound Railway company, at Butte, and Oscar Stephens ,in the property. It was being be-ing developed In splendid shape when the sudden death of Mr. Stephens, at Denver, put a stop to tho work and It has only- been pnrsuM at Interval. Spokane men have lately become Interested In-terested in the mine, and have an option on It. |
