Harrlman gave a dlmo while In this city on Thursday last, U being sought by railroad detectives under Instructions from the railroad magnate, who 13 now In Slnaloa, Mex., and has kept the wires hot In an effort ef-fort to obtain some traces of the man. Trainmen have been instmeieil to he on the lookout for the man, whoso description de-scription has been telegraphed to all points along the line. What has occasioned oc-casioned Mr. Harriman's sudden interest in-terest in the man Is not known here. While Mr. Harriman and a party of friends were talking on the depot platform, plat-form, the beggar approached him and told a story about having been crippled crip-pled while in the servlceof the Southern South-ern Pacific. It Is presumed that tho magnate's interest was aroused and that on second thought he decided to assist the man if he could be found. |
