Show COBB KNOWS HOW TO SPUR HIS CREW DETROIT. Nov. 17 (By the Asso-i Asso-i elated Press ) So many, so varied and so entirely lacking in fact have bei n the stories of Ty Cobb's early retirement from baseball that the Georgian long ago ceased to dignify them with denials. A story that has just became known todav reveals Cobb's attitude on rumors ru-mors that he Is "through." It was in the club house following a particularly weird exhibition of hast ball by his club. Cobb was criticizing criti-cizing the men. "I read in the papers today," he said "that I was to quit playing baseball base-ball at the end of the season. Quit' I admit I have lost a lot. but when I see you fellows play. I know I've got enough left to keep on playing for 1000 years!" |
