Show UuuEH mmi lo SUED FOR $1000 Woman Says Money Drawn on Cashier Checks Fraudulently Mrs. Nettle Dopoulos, wife of John Dopoulos, former Ogden cafe owner, yesterday filed suit In the district court against tho First and Utah Na- tional bank seeking judgment fori f lOOu which, she cla.ma. was paid by the bank on two cashier's checks ! without her authority. The wuman alleges that on July 14, last, her husband deposited $1000 in the First National bank and took out , two cashier's checks, each for $5oo. She claims ther money deposited was hers and her husband turned the 1 cheeks over to Iter upon his retu-n from the bank. Mrs Dopoulos claims she placed thp chicks In a place "deemed sate ;;m! secure" but that the checks "were unlawfully and fraudulently ahstrnc;-ed" ahstrnc;-ed" from the hiding place without her knowledge or consent. She further alleges that as soon ai 1 she discovered the checks missing she I notified ttie bank to refuse payment j la the event they were presented. Als , j sh clainos, she bad not endorsed either of the checks. The checks were hon- ored by the bank, she alleges, upon a forged signature when presented by an unknown person. The woman asks judgment for $1000 ! including interest and costs. |
