Jer ( ome Benson, a lireman on the Pacific j Idaho & Northern rallroud branch road, was killed near Welser yesterday yester-day when Ihe train hit. a snowdrift, ac cording to information received here The engine turned over three times i and landed in the Welser river. En-I En-I glneer J. H. Babb was thrown from the engine as lt left the tracks. The only explanation Is that the engine was speeded up, as Is the custom, to pierce the drift Benson lived at Wei I ser and Is survived by his widow and j four children. The breaking of the (coupling is all that saved the entire train from going luto tho river, according ac-cording to Engineer Babb
