hotly dve on the eai east l side of union square stands the new now city jail just completed and which is also a credit to ogden and to the city council who erected it on tho southwest corner of the tabernacle cle square is another elegant efe edifice e erected by bi the latter day sainta saints of the third ward it is designed a to be used for ecclesiastical purposes purposes and when finis finished bd will be unsurpassed by any of the kind in this A new baptist church has also been built on young street for the RP accommodation of the people of the baptist faith it was built by donations A considerable amount of tho the money M WM was subscribed in ogden by both cormons mormons Mor IMor mons and non lormans mormons Mor lor mons the balance was raised in the states lait but by no means th aleast el east come the ogden iron which have been reconstructed tried and proved to be a palpable success this institution will if rightly managed be of immense value not only to ogden oden O den city but p o all of utah and a great part of the pacific slope the works have already t turned urn cd out as good iron as any manufactured a at pittsburg or any other place in the united states and when tho the furnaces are started up again in in the spring a and are in full working order there will be a demand for all the material they can make fer for domestic purposes and for eirp
