Show SOLDIERS. SAILORS ANO MARINES ARE TO PARADE The next meeting of the Solidprs'J Sailor.-- and Mannps' club will bp in the form of a bask.pt social to be held at Lorin Parr park, on Monday, May 6th, according arrangements made last night. The Red Cross nursps who have returned, re-turned, canteen workers and motor' corps, and the Women of American Patriots will be invited to join with the service men in the parly at the' park, ihe chief feature of which will! be dancinc The basket lunches will be auctioned off in the usual way at such parttps and ihe proceeds will so to thp funds of the organization. A short business session will also be held at this event to organize the club members fo participate in the I Golden Spike celebration on May 10th. j All returped service men in the cil and county are urgently requested to I attend this affair, Whether thev have1 become members of the club or not The club members met last nkht in ! the Masonic hall and transacted bus iness of considerable importance Among the chief matters discussed was the participation of the clUh as an organization In the Memorial Da) ceremonies. The new club will turn out and asks all returned men, re- j eardiess of membership, to join them I in this event The men will turn out! in a body with other military organi-zatlons organi-zatlons for a parade and services, In honor of the fallen heroe of the wars of the United States. The new club also decided to form ' a military band immediately, with an Ultimate aim of having at least 1001 pieces The orsaniz.it ion will have ii.i! own band to lead it in the par.nl during the Golden Spike celebration1 and also in the Memorial Day serv-Ides. serv-Ides. Lester Hincheliff was made head of! the band organization and he selected Marcellus Smith as his chief assistant, the club sivlng full sanction to the committee to work out the details. Mr. Hincheliff stated that he and Mr Smith could organize enough train-' ed musical members of the organize tion to take part as a band in thp Golden Spike celebration. But he said that he could organize a band for; the Memorial exercises. It is alao probable that the organization will turnish its own music for the party! at Lorln Farr park Golden Spike Celebration For its participation in the Golden Spike celebration the soldiers' and j sailors' club will make preparation toj appear in strictly military formation. with the various branches of service represented in groups. The Red Cress nurses will be given a place of j honor in the military section of the parade. Each returned nurse in the state or intermouniain region is re- ! quested by the Ogden military club to; join in the event. At the meeting last night the soldiers and sailors voiced 1 the sentiment that the highest honor should be paid to ihe Red Cross nurses and workers The women of the Red Cross canteen and the Motor Corps will also b- asked to participate.
