Show I Tracksters Will Decide Rocky Mountain Title Saturday I ENTOT Eight Schools of Rockies Will Decide Track Honors at Colorado Springs Although tho Utah Aggios finished second to the University of Utah In the state intercollegiate track and field games staged last week, the Loganltes will send a fast team to Colorado to compete In the Rocky Mountain conference con-ference meot next Saturday. The Aggies Ag-gies boast one of the best half mllers In the West in Hart, and the Aggie star is expected to show a world of class In the foreign competition. It has been three yearn since a Utah team has entered the competitions In Colorado in track and field, and It is expected that tho Aggies will make a good showing. Louis Falck, of Ogden, former Ogden High 6chool star will be ono of the men to make the trip. Falck is a sprint star. Anderson in the polo vault, Hansen Han-sen In the sprints, Croft and Thorley two mile run are the other men who will make the trip. It Is possible that Sayman Kerr, sensational miler of the University of Utah will also enter? Kerr copped the mile In the games last week In record time doing the distance in 4 minutes 32 and 2-6 seconds. He Is one of the greatest mllers in tho West and would no doubt cop with ease. Besides the Aggies, tho following schoolB will be entered "in the gala meet: Colorado college, Colorado University, Uni-versity, Colorado Aggies, Colorado School of Mines, University of Wyoming, Wyo-ming, Montana state, and the University Uni-versity of Sou'h Dakota. As usual the Colorado scribes can't seen the Utahns, but before the meet is over they will probably change their opinion as to the ciass of .tho Utahns. In the half mile run Hart of the Aggies will strive to break tho present conference record of 2 niinutes flat made in 1913 by Jameson of Utah. Hart has been running like" a champion cham-pion in Utah and should with competition compe-tition be able to cut his time down. He Is a polished runner and should have little competition. In tho two mile event Jacques of the Aggies will endeavor to break Taylor's record of 'lO.lS. Taylor, former Colorado College football star made the Tecord in 191-1. !ho is still rated as one of the greatest distance men ever developed in Colorado. Col-orado. With the Denver meet over the athletes ath-letes of Utah and other schools of the West will forsake their togs until next ear. Tho grid sport will be the first sport on the program when tho season opens next fall. |
