Show Baron Sonnino Presents Claim of Italy to Four PARIS, April IS Italy's territorial claims, especially in the Adriatic, were presented to the council of four today by Baron Sidney Sonnino, the Iralian foreign minister. The fact that Baron Sonnino and not Premier Orlando, presented the Italian case to the council. Is regarded as significant because the foreign minister min-ister is an extreme advocate of Italy's. Utmost claims. It was Baron Sonnino who signed the treaty of London nnd he now holds Premiers Lloyd George and Clomenceau to the pledges made in the treaty. When Ihe council met it was with the intenUon of devoting its entire time today to consideration of the Italian Ital-ian claims and with the expectation that a settlement would be rached before be-fore night. The Italians maintain that their position regarding possession of Flume is unalterable. The British and French premiers, it la understood, are inclined towards some sort of compromise. It is said that President Wilson's attitude ot opposing the Italian aspirations is unchanged |
