That the labor unions are making a most determined effort to eliminate from public life the national law makers who have proved offensive to ihem is made evidenl by the results of the primary in Wisconsin, where -John J, Est h. one of the authors of the EscfrCum-mins EscfrCum-mins law has been defeated, anil two other objectionable Congress men have met the same rebuke. Representative Ksch, chairman of the committee on interstate and foreign commerce, and co-author with Senator Cummins of the transportation act, was one of the principal victims marked fo political slaughter by the organized labor movement. For his defeat yesterday the national campaign committee of the sixteen associated railroad labor organisations, including the four hijf brotherhoods laims the credit, ami they are now preparing to wape uurelenthlg warfare on Senator Cummins of Iowa to defeat him for re-election having failed in their fipht to knock him out in the primary. It will be noted that the victories so far obtained by the unions have been brought about by the union men holding to old party linev |
