For their maintenance, while in school or on the jo learning some new trade, these men receive from ?S0 I to $150 a month, according to the num ber of dependents they have. They are paid every two weeks. In addition addi-tion all instruction expenses as well as transportation to and from place of training are paid by the board. There are a good many more Utah men entitled to training by the board and it is likely, that their cases will be approved in the very near future. Within a very short time a careful audit of all cases in the District 11, comprising Utah, Colorado, New Mexico Mex-ico and Wyoming, will be made bv the eligibility squad. This eligibility squad composed of federal board representatives rep-resentatives from the central office at Washington, D. C, has been visiting each district office to determine the eligibility of the men for training. Thoy are scheduled to be at the office of-fice of District 11 at Denver during February. It is urged by H. Allen Nye, district dis-trict vocational office?, that all men entitled to training by the hoard vho have not yet filed their applications make an extra effort to see Mr. Bearn-son Bearn-son while he is in Ogden at the Reed hotel, so that their papers may reach Denver betore the eligibility squad leaves that office. Nearly 1400 men have been approved ap-proved for training in' District 11 but not quite all of them are actuallv in training. -Up to December 10, 1919. there have been approved for the entire en-tire United States 33,167 men. AH of thesc men who have been awarded, training have been notified that they can commence training whenever ready. Of the men in training it Is interesting: interest-ing: to note that the trade and industrial indus-trial group Includes the largest number num-ber of men, 27.8 per cent being enrolled en-rolled on courses of this character; 26.4 per cent of the men are taking business or commercial training; 1G per cent pre vocational training; 15.1 per cent agricultural training; and 14.2 per cent professional education. 00 |
