Show DISCHARGE Of RIFLE IS, CAUSE OF DEATH OF i YDUIIG BOY : The accidental discharge of a .22 caliber rifle by Evan Nix, aged 12. years, resulted in the death of Wayne i Butler, aged 2 shortly after 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The accident happened near the Oregon Short Line, i bridge near the Ogden river. The boy died instantly, the bullet piercing the heart. I Detectives Thomas Burk and Ever-1 Ever-1 ett Noble investigated the accident. I They say the Butler boy, In company I with Evan Nix,, and Terry Burns, was 'hunting along the river bottom. The j rifle .was faulty and failed to explode 'on several occasions. According- to J the police, the Nix boy was holding the gun when it was discharged, i Nix and Burns, terrified, picked up the body and swam across the river, 'seeking "aid at 1907 Wall avonue, I Young Butler is tho son of Ben "E. i and Ella White Butler of 2139 Lincoln avenue. Hp was born at 'Kemmerer, (Wyoming, August 2S, 190S. Besides, ,his parents he Is survived by three brothers and one sister. |
