Show . Scene in Grand Finale of aPiff, Paff, Poufto he Repeated at Orpheum 7 heatre, March 8ih -rPhoto by Link Studio. Surpassing even the most flattering expectations, the American Legion opera, "Piff, Paff, Pouf," scored two bviUiart successes last Tuesday and "Wednesday eveniugs when it was presented at the Orpheum theater to packed ho.tses. Artistically the play was a decided improvement over anything Ogden. has ever produced and judging from expressions of the hundreds who attended the performances, "Piff, Paff, Pouf" was Ogden greatest production. The above is a picture of the finale, one of the most spectacular scenes in the two acts of the play and entirely originated by Bob Major, whose exceptional ability as a director and untiring efforts are in a large measure responsible for the splendid success of the -play. In the finale( Lester llinehcliffe. musical director arranged ihe music, entirely militaristic. Each chorus and two of the principals? or! the play cume onto the stage in this se'enu to the tune of a snappy march and representing one of the allied nations. Last of all "Rose and Piff, two principals eamo in followed by the ponies who were neatly clad in white Hussar costumes .and carrying American flags. On the last verse of the varied arrangement, Rose flung back her cape disclosing a satin lining of "Old Glory." . The play was altogether the most brilliant and successfully produced of any. Ogdcn has ever seen. ' ' . . - further production of the play will be given in the Orpheum theater on Monday, March 8, instead of Wednesday ATarch 10, as formerly announced- - V |
