Show Brigham Society Mrs. W. J. Lowe was hostess to the members of the Civic Improvement club at its regular monthly session held Thursday afternoon. Following roll call a report was given of the proceeds pro-ceeds received from the sale of the RcI Cross quilt on Peach Day. The committee having this work in charge was comprised or Mrs. LeRoy B. Young, Miss Trieste Box and Mrs. R. T. Willey and they will turn over to the Box Elder Chapter of the Red Cross $260.55 as a result of their efforts. ef-forts. The resignation of Miss Eliza Hanson, a member of the club who departed de-parted recently for an extended stay in Canada, was read and accepted. Mrs. Joseph A. West and Mrs. Elias Jensen were appointed delegates to the convention of the Stake Federation, Federa-tion, which is to be held in Logan Oct. 8, 9 and 10. and Mrs. E. W. Dunn was named as alternate. The annual election of officers (or the ensuing year followed. Mrs. Joseph A. West was elected president; Mrs. IT. L. Meffert secretary; Miss Trieste Box corresponding secretary and Mrs. C. T. Anderson treasurer. The club decided de-cided to buy bond of the Foutu Liberty loan and refreshments were served for twenty members. Mrs. Einer Rasmussen went to Spokane Spo-kane Thursday to spend a few weeks visiting her husband who is employed at that place. Mrs. Dora Snow Dudley of Hill Spring, Alberta, Canada, who had been spending two weeks in Ogden visiting her daughter, Mrs. Milton Cozzens, is in Brigham spending a few days with her sister, Mrs. Rosetta S. Loveiand. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Stout and Mr. and Mrs. W. IT. Stayncr motored to Salt Lake City on Saturday afternoon and remained over Sunday as the guests of friends. Mrs. D. R. Wright returned to Brig ham Sunday evening after spending ten-days in Ogden visiting with her daughters, Mrs. Earl Furnlss and Mrs. Roland Farr. ( Mrs. Perry and Mrs. W. IT. Shurt-jliff Shurt-jliff were hostesses to the members of the Social Development club on Friday afternoon. The ladies spent the afternoon af-ternoon with their needlework and light refreshments were served for fifteen members and guests. Earl Walker, who has recently enlisted en-listed in the service of his country was guest of honor at a farewell parly given Saturday evening at tho home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Walker, prior to leaving for Salt Lake City where he will enter training for army service. A wrist watch was presented the honor guest and the evening was enjoyably spent In games and other social diversions. Miss Beth Crandall of Lakeview, Mich., was the guest of friends in Brigham .during Saturday and Sunday. Sun-day. Miss Crandall was enroute for Malad where she has accepted a position posi-tion as teacher in the schools of that city during this season. Miss Rula Ward entertained a number num-ber of friends on Saturday afternoon at the home of her mother, Mrs. J. J. Ward of Willard. The ladles made the trip by auto and spent the afternoon after-noon with their needlework. A delicious deli-cious tray lunch was served, the hostess hos-tess being assisted by her mother. The guests included Misses Lillian and Grace ITalvcrson, Nadine Dunn, Irma Knudson, Veda Hunsaker, Rao and Opal Knudson, Olive Jensen; Mes-dames Mes-dames W. J. Lowe, IT. C. Dav, Orville E. Mcrrell, Zillah W. Harper, Horace Ensign, all of Brigham; Mesdames J. J. Ward. Clarence Welton Ward and Miss Lavon Mason of Willard, Miss Edith Tingey of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Hans Ogaard was hostess at dinner on Thursday afternoon in compliment com-pliment to Mrs. Nephi Hansen of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Nephi J. Hansen of Brigham. Covers were laid for thirteen guests. Miss Louise Walker, who is employed em-ployed as saleslady with the firm of Last & Thomas, in Ogden, spent Sunday Sun-day in Brigham visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Walker. On Saturday evening Mrs. IT. C. Day, in honor of Mr. Day's birthday anniversary, entertained several guests at '"500." The rooms were decorated with fall flowers and five tables were arranged for the guests. Miss Edith Tingey of Salt Lake City and O. A. 'Hart won first prizes nnd the consolation conso-lation prizes were awarded W. J. LLowe and Miss Olive Jensen. The hostess, assisted by Miss Veda Hunsaker, Hun-saker, served refreshments at tho small tables for tho following: Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Lowe, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Call, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Hoist, Dr. and Mrs. C. IT. Bryan, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Squires, Atty. and Mrs. W. E. Davis, Mrs. F. D. Farrell, Miss Editli Tingey, Miss Olive Jensen, Miss RRula Ward, Messrs H. C. Day, J. L. Pierce, O. A. Hart, L. E. Howard. Mrs. E. B. Mathias entertained at a parcel shower on Saturday evening in honor of Mrs. LaRue M. Wright. The guests were entertained with victrola music while they plied busy needles, after which refreshments were served.
