Sanford listed among the missing on tho Princess Sophia, So-phia, formerly were operators in the local office of The Associated Press. Sanford figured when the steamer Hanalel was wrecked on Doxbury reef in November 1915. When the ship's wireless was put out of commission, Sanford, then connected with the wireless wire-less station at Bolinas, kept up communication com-munication with the vessel by means of flashlights. on
