Show I Read the Classified Ads. j Safeguarding the Health i of Our Patrons I I That the public might know, we take this opportunity to tell of 'til ! some of the measures this store has adopted for the safe-guarding S ill 1 of the health of its patrons. ' 11 1 First: The interior arrangement of the store is such that foul air J nil cannot accumulate. The ceilings are high (18 ft.) on every floor. J ill I 9 The aisles are wide most of them as Avide as the average sidewalk III I out of doors. , - ill Second: While the ventilation is naturally good, air being ad- $ Iffl I mitted from nearly four hundred feet of window space, we are not 11 ' content with, that, but great motors are constantly in motion pump- I I ing fresh sun-warmed air intoxthe store from out'of doors. This j j I air is taken from the levelof the 2nd floor a,nd is pumped with great It force into the basements other motor-driven fans are constantly li If j pumping air out of the building on trie first and second floors. It B Third: The store is thoroughly cleaned every day. Two men are J lS i kept busy during each night making the store fit for the coming jI morning. During the day two other janitors are constantly clean- j j ing, dusting and renovating. ' 111' Fourth: Powerful disinfectants are used in liberal quantifies. The J 1 lavatories the rest rooms the stair banisters are wiped down with a strong antiseptic solution. Even the telephonesare protected with an antiseptic arrangement that immediately sterilizes them after S use. 'I I I You will, probably, have noticed about the store the' strong odor of II1 jj disinfectants this is the result of spraying the air wjth a strong I i i liquid disinfectant. 1 11$ Fifth: Every employee in the' store MUST be well and in good I jljl D health. At the first sign of illness no matter how slight the f person is ordered home and not to report for duty again until there 11 I is not indication whatever of colds or illness. 1 i f) S Hit l Sixth: The store is roomy the selling departments being dis- I 11 I tributed over three great floors, so that even when many customers J ace shopping at one time there is little possibility of crowding, j Our floor managers have orders to see that employees or customers 1 I do not gather in groups. We believe that health officers will agree ffi that where these measures are rigidly and constantly enforced, the ! I rooms so treated are almost as healthful as the great out of doors. Wo H.
