Show French Fighting On 40-mile Front And Making Gains PARIS, Oct. 27. A marked advance by the French troops in tho sector between be-tween the Oise and Serre rivers is recorded re-corded In the official communication Issued by the war office tonight. Numerous Nu-merous villages have been captured and at certain points tho advance amounted to about five miles. PARIS, Oct. 27. On tho forty-mile front between the Oise and the Aisne the French maintain their pressure and on the left have mado important gains, accordin to the war office statement today. They have captured four villages between the Oise and ,the Serre and along the Serre have penetrated pene-trated the enemy positions. Between Soissons and Chateau Por-cien Por-cien on October 25 and 2G the French took more than 2450 prisoners. HEAVY FIGHTING IN ITALY. ROME, Oct. 27.
