The gross operating op-erating revenues were the greatest on record and exceed those of the last fiscal fis-cal year by more than thirty and a half million dollars, and making a tota of $193,971,489.54. The officials state that the increased increas-ed economy and added efficiency more than offset the increases in costs of material and labor. An interesting feature of the year's business was the fact that of the seventy-three million dollars of net revenue, over thirteen and three-quarter million was paid to the government in taxes. The report shows that of four hundred hun-dred twenty-two million passengers carried during the last four years, but one fatality has occurred through train accidents. It is said that even greater efficiency and economy of labor la-bor and material will be exercised during dur-ing the coming year. |
