Show BATTLEFLAGOF Famous Airship's Colors and Bits of Envelope and Gas Bag in U. S. Museum. WASHINGTON. Jan. 18. The battle flag of the Zeppelin L-49. brought down near Bourbonne, France, October Octo-ber 17. 1917, has been received at the I headquarters of the marine corps and I sent to the national museum. The i flag,' deep red, bears no distinguishing (insignia of any kind. Accompanying i it were small portions of the outer envelope and of the gas bag of the Zeppelin. The flag was given to Major Gen- eral Barnett, commanding the marines, by the French lieutenant commanding near where the Zeppelin was brought I down. |
