Show I Theatres AT THE ORPHEUM. "The Six Serenaders, Music a la comedy with Roe Reaves," was the chief scintillator on last night's Pan-tages Pan-tages bill at the Orphcum theater. These half dozen singers and talkerstwo talk-erstwo males and the others of the gentler sex, were genuine thrills. They handed over a come-off on the Hawaiian brand of music that was refreshing. re-freshing. It was particularly refreshing refresh-ing to the average individual who has grown fatigued of that never-ending farewell variety of harmony which has gained some notoriety as "Hawaiian." "Ha-waiian." The Six Serenaders were a versatile aggregation. They sang anything and talked all the time. They were pleasingly pleas-ingly costumed, had ample pep and industry in-dustry and put a brand of entertainment entertain-ment across the calcium glim thnt delighted. de-lighted. Charles and Henry RIgolctto also were hoadliners. They have assembled assem-bled a series of mystics and have developed de-veloped a class of novelties and juggling jug-gling and performed a medley of instrumentations, in-strumentations, dancing and other things that satisfy and aro seldom seen even on the Panlages. They were real favorites with the paid at- tendance and, will continue to he just J so long as they arctbilled to remain; In the city. i Larson & Wilson, lagged the "En-1 lertainlng Duo," are that and some- J thing more. They are a sensational twain. Their talk-fcsts might be edited out and increaso the ginger of1 their part of the show, but their tumbling tum-bling is the choicest over shown here, or any place else. The Johnson-Dean revue, singing, dancing and cake-walking, was good, but somewhat stereotyped. The melody mel-ody of negro singing was lost In "Our Old Kentucky Home" and "Down on the Suwanee River" because of an attempt to make them classic. Riggs & Ryan in comedy songs and patter also pleased. 00 |
