Ram, Hindu farmer of near Tre-monton, Tre-monton, and a brother of Pasha Ram, Hindu placed under $10,000 bond at San Francisco yesterday for Implication Implica-tion in the conspiracy to incite a rebellion re-bellion in India, -was arrested by Officers Offi-cers Manzel, Dick and Hcarn, nearly last night. j Hain was arrested about 6.40 at I 223-.A Twenty-fifth street and locked in the city jail. He Is being held under un-der tho formal ' charge of "having liquor in his possession." Although a formal charge of "having "hav-ing liquors in his possession" has been made against Ram, there is considerable con-siderable speculation as to whether he is not wanted for something more serious. The presence of Chief Leon Bone of the bureau of investigation, has added zest to the incident. To date, Chief Browning has instructed that the prisoner be held "for fur-1 ther investigation." It is possible that Ram will be arraigned in municipal court tomorrow ' morning on the chnrge of violating the liquor laws of the state. No explanation has been made as to the nature of Ram's trip from Tremon-ton Tremon-ton to Ogden, or what he was doing at the time of his arrest His effects, it is understood, contained nothing incriminating, in-criminating, other than a quantity of liquor. He is 36 years old and has all the characteristic marks of tho Hindu. Pasha Ram, the Hindu under Investigation Inves-tigation at San Francisco, was arrested ar-rested at Tremonton several months ago and taken to California. Whether G. Ram. the Hindu arrested last night, is suspected of being a part of the conspiracy for which his brother was arrested, is not known. |
