Show oo LIQUOR SEIZED Jl, 5 WILL BE DESTROYED BY AUTHORITIES The liquor seized from the Paris hotel, owned by Joseph Laucirica, on January 5. when the place was raided by the sheriff and several deputies, was ordered forfeited by Judgo A. E. Pratt in district court yesterday afternoon, after-noon, after Laucirica had filed a, disclaimer dis-claimer to the liquor through his counsel, Attorney A. G. Horn. The liquor will probably be destroyed. It consists of 5G pints of whiskey, a quart of beer, a quart of Angelica, a quart of Vermouth, a pint of brandy and several miscellaneous bottles. It was taken in the second raid on tho Paris hotel since the state went dry. Judgo Pratt issued the search and seizure warrant under which tho place was visited January 5. Laucirica was not placed under arrest until January Jan-uary 7. Contrary to announcements some- r timo ago, that tho government desired i all confiscated whiskoy to be turned over for federal use for the alcohol, this liquor will probably bo "poured in tho gutter," as another order was Issued by the government stating that dry state liquor is usually so adulterated adulter-ated that the alcohol found, after much tedious refining, Is not of sufficient quantity to pay for the work. If this order covers the liquor taken in the first Laucirica case, tho disposal of which is depending on a decision of the Laucirica caso by tho state supremo su-premo court, Ogden sewers will be flooded by approximately GOO gallons of assorted stimulants. |
