Show PLANS TO PROTECT CITY WATER SYSTEM WASHINGTON, Jan. 28. Senator Smoot filed in the senate favorable reports re-ports from the public lands committee on his bill to protect the Salt Lake City wfater system by authorizing tho issuance of a patent to the Gray Trust company for 440 acres of government land in Utahin lieu of an equal acreage acre-age owned by the company in the Wasatch national forest. These lands are to revert to the government and be used to augment the Salt Lake water supply system. He also filed a favorable report upon his bill for the consolidation to be effected ef-fected by exchange for government lands. Senator Smoot offered an amendment amend-ment to tho Indian appropriation bill, to appropriate $12,690 to pay Uintah and Duchesne counties for tho education educa-tion of the children of white lessees of Indian lands. oo |
