Show jBDY FROM TAVLOR NOW Ii FR9IEI i i , Lorin F. Farr of Taylor has just re-1 ceived a letter from his son, Lorin , Winslow Farr, who has arrived safely overseas. Mr. Farr left Ogden last June H for Lincoln Hall University nt Reno, Nov., whore he learned the cement trade. He was then transferred to Camp Fremont, Fre-mont, Cal., remaining there two months and then going overseas. He landed some time in early November. His letter, dated November 11, is as follows: "Just a few lines to let you know I landed safely over here. Am well. "I enjoyed the trip across. The weather was calm most of the way. Had one storm which lasted a day and night. I expected to get seasick, but , was not in the least, "I find here a very pretty place. Like It fine. The farmB here would only be garden spotK back home. The people are nil in mourning costumes, s "The young boys, about 6 or 7 years old, come along and ask for cigarets. Apples aro 10 cents each. I haven't i seen any candy. They have-a kind made of figs. "Am not at my destination vot onlv 1 at a resting camp. So you see, I am .a long way from the firing lines. Can't 1 a I even hear the guns." j I I nn |
