Show COLONEL IS SUIICIDE CAMP GRANT, 111., Oct. 8 Colonel Charles B. Haigadorn, acting commandant com-mandant of Camp Grant, committed suicide in his quarters at the cantonment canton-ment last night. His body, with a pistol pis-tol wound In the head, was found in bed at about 7 o'clock this morning. Colonel Haigadorn has been in command com-mand of Camp Grant for a month. Officers Of-ficers at tho camps said today he had been showing the strain Imposed on him by the pneumonia epidemic whici. has caused more than 500 deaths in camp. Ho had been troubled by insomnia. in-somnia. ' Colonel Haigadorn entered West Point in 1885 and was graduated in, 1889. He had served in various infantry in-fantry regiments of the regular army and was appointed a colonel last fall. He was unmarried and his home was in Elmira, N. Y. oo |
