The aoeds of the school children of Brig-liam Brig-liam City at this time wero given preference by the board of education Dver the claim of the people of Gar-and Gar-and and Tremonton for tho establishing establish-ing of a high school in that vicinity, rho Bear River valley high school petitions wero voted down owing to Lho shortage of funds at this time and Uso for tho reason that the board of ?ducation had formerly agreed that Box Elder county should have one first ;lass, well equipped high school, the best possible, and that junior high 5chools would bo established in tho various parts of tho county where thoy ivero thought necessary. Tho first of Lho junior high schools was opened at Garland a year ago last fall and others will bo opened in other parts of tho county this year If tho attondanco warrants war-rants It The board allowed Brlgham either a 30,000 addition to the high school to bo used by the grades or a $30,000 building in some other location to care or tho pupils in the eastern part of Lho city. The building will bo completed com-pleted in time to relievo the congested condition of the present grado schools. |
