Show TEN-MILE ROAD RICE! FROM OGDEN TO ROT SPRINGS I Much interest has already been BhoWn In the coming ten -mile road race to be held on Saturday morning. , .May 11 By Ihe end of the week there Nrlll be some forty of Ogden'fl amateur "bike" riders on the training table. Because the race will he strictly a local affair for the hoys of Weber county, with all professional riders barred, the youngsters will bo seen every evening and Sunday afternoon on the county roads travelling at a high rate of Speed. The old "bone shakers" will be oiled to the minute, the warped rims straightened" and the athletic owners will be Been with many heads of sweat on their boyish brows all during their training season. Harry Wohrman of the Indian agency, agen-cy, who has had a great deal of road racing experience will be one Of the prominent men. He stntes that he will gladly give the boys help and advice. The race starts at Twenty-seventh street and Washington avenue at 10 I o'clock on Saturday morning May 11, land finishes at the Utah Hot Springs 1 hotel. There are prizes offered for about twenty places, including the time j prizes. These awards are valued at 400 and are donated by the bicycle manufacturers of the east. Riders will be handicaped according to their ages and years of racing experience, ex-perience, so that every boy in the city j has just as good a chance to win the main awards as ihe crack rider. oo |
