Show oo TRAGEDY TOLO BV GRACE LUSK WAUKESA Wis., May 24 "1 cannot can-not remember," Grace Lusk told the Jury which will decide her fate on a charge of slaying Mrs. Mary Newman 1 Roberts, when asked regarding the 1 shooting, on the witness stand today ! "Did jou intend to shoot Mrs. Rob-erts?" Rob-erts?" she was asked. "Never, never, never," she cried. "Did you intend to take Mrs. Rob erts' life?" "Never. Why should I?" In telling of meeting Dr. Roberts on the evening of the tragedy, June 20, 1917, Miss Lusk said that she told him that If he did not care for her that would end It all. The witness said that he replied that he still did care and she then told him that she must tell Mrs Roberts and ak her for his freedom. free-dom. He promised to do so that night, she testified. The next afternoon, after having failed to keep an appointment she had made for the morning, Mrs. Roberts came to her home, Miss Lusk said, and declared her husband had told her "that Miss Lusk was the biggest fool he had ever known and that she had chased him until he never had a minute's min-ute's peace." Miss Lusk said that she went upstairs up-stairs to get some of the doctor's letters let-ters to proo to Mre.
