Show THE HOG MARKET SLIQiT DECLINE I With only a light run of hogs at the Ogden union stockyards during the past week there also came a reduction reduc-tion in prices being offered on the local lo-cal market, $16 50 being paid for top hogs. Despite this fact, however, the Hunsaker Livestock Commission company com-pany sold a consignment of feeder hogs, brought from California, at $16. There Is hopeful anticipation among the commission men that there will bo an increase In the prices for hogs during dur-ing the coming week. However, eastern east-ern conditions as to general market also affect the western markets and there is no certainty as to when the change will take place. Prices in Ogden Og-den have been above $16 50 for top hogs for a considerable time, the last couple months marking the highest prices over paid for swine in this section sec-tion and, when freight charges and feeding accounts are also considered, being as high or higher than the eastern east-ern quotations. |
