Show 00 CHIEF OF POLICE AND OTHER OFFICERS ARE SOED Damages amounting to $25,300 against the Guardian Casually fc Guaranty company, Thomas E. Browning. Brown-ing. T. Henry Blackburn and J. L. Hobson are asked in a suit started in the district court today by SteMa Moore. The plaintiff is suing for $5000 general and specific damages, $10,000 compensatory damages, $10,000 exemplary exem-plary damages and $300 special damages, dam-ages, for alleged injury' to her business busi-ness and reputation when she was arrested ar-rested May 26, 19)7, and confined in the city jail accused of pandering. She was operating a rooming house and claims that through her arrest and confinement in the cits jail from May 26 to June 7, she lost her business, busi-ness, and that her reputation was damaged so that nhe could not conduct con-duct her business. In her complaint she says she was arrested and turned loose without the formality of a trial and that the defendants refused to set her bail, although she offered ball in any sum required. |
