Show FAMILIES OF SOLDIER BOYS IE BEII LOOKED AFTER An excellent piece of war service Is being rendered by the organization known to workers on that line as the Oregon Short Line War Family club which' has for its main purpose tho care or the wives and families of tho men employed by tho company who are now engaged in tho service of the United States Army or Navy, and for service among the boys, wherever they can be reached, In times of sickness or distress. At the present time the membership of this club Is approximately -15,000, and. as it is entirely a voluntary organization, or-ganization, the members aro called upon" to support it according to their desire and ability. The subscriptions to its funds range from two cents to ?2 per week and the entire amount of the subscriptions is used in the service ser-vice alone. Tho railway company itself it-self bears all tho expenses of the clerical cler-ical work connected with tho organization. organi-zation. Care is taken that the money subscribed sub-scribed is used for cases of need and that the help offered is given in a delicate, tactful and altogether helpful I way. Trained nurses are employed to visit the families of boys in tho service ser-vice during times of sickness, while the committee endeavors to get Into touch with boys in tho service who aro sick in hospitals and convoy to them some tangible token of the regard, in which they arc held. Mr. Kellogg, chief clerk of the O. U. R. and D. company, will leave on Monday morning for a meeting of the executive committee of tho club which is to be held at Pocatello when matters mat-ters affecting the efficient rendering of service by the club will be up for discussion.
