Show EigMIetli Division Drives Back Runs T the KriemSiiSde WASHINGTON, Oct. 4. The American Ameri-can troops which today drove back the Germans to the Kriemhilde position, posi-tion, south of Foret wood, evidently composed tho Eightieth and Eighty-sixth Eighty-sixth national army divisions. The former is made up of men from west-orn west-orn Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia and trained at Camp Lee and the latter of men from Illinois and Wisconsin and trained at Camp Grant, 111. The Eightieth division was announced an-nounced as being a unit of tho Third army corps under Major General WrghL Its commanding officer was Major General Cronkhitc. It trained with tho British In Flanders, but later was withdrawn. The Eighth-sixth division has not long been in France and if it were in this fighting it probably was engaging engag-ing in Its first combat. oo |
