Show 105 HIE DIES IT HIS HOME III RIVERSIDE News has been received from River side, Cal.. of the death there on March 10 of Amos Sebring, well known as a former resident of Ogden. A Riverside paper of the 10th contains con-tains the following ' While not unexpected, the death of Amos Sebring of 2S Clark street early today was a shock to many of his friends m this city. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from his late residence. Dr. B. S. Haywood officiating. "During his residence of seven years In Riverside. Mr. Sebring had made many friends here. On the death of his wife in Ogden. Utah, the deceased came to this city to make his home with his son, the late Georgo Alva Sebring. Se-bring. Mr. Sebring spent many years of his life in Utah, having moved to that state from Otsego, Mich., where Ihe has one brother living today The deceased was a member of the First Methodist church and belonged to the .Knights of the Maccabees " Mr. Sebring was a native of New York and came to Utah about thirty years ago. For a number of years he was employed in the Ogden railroad yards as an engineer until he was; obliged to give up that employment on account of ill health. He was an active member of th Methodist rhurch of this city, being nlso one of the trustees during the construction of the church building on Twenty-fourth street. He removed to California about seven years ago. The curious coincidence is note.1 that the pastor who officiated at his funeral in Riverside was the one se. lected by his bride to perform the marriage ceremony jn Michigan nearly near-ly fifty years ago. |
