Show Theatres AT THE ORPHEUM. The Orpheum theatre was "sold out" last night to Ogden people filled with that ever-alive curioeitv regarding regard-ing the spirit world, that seems to have been inherited by every human being. Dr. Eddy, one of the most noted mediums of the day, was the magnet that exerted its force upon this , natural element, drew Its possessors I Into the theatre and then sent them I home more curious and mystified than before All but two of Dr Eddy's occult, 1 feats were performed on a brightly I lighted stage, with the medium being lightly bound, hand and foot. The entertainer first gave a brief preview I Of the program he was to present) and characterized as absurd the at-1 templed expose of the occult art by j noted American writers and scientists I He then prevailed upon Judge A. W. j Agee, O- D. Rasmussen. ICdwin Wil Hams and Dr. Henry W Nelson to act I as a committee of watchers to see that he was not given any assistance from tangible beings. Then followed a two-hour performance perform-ance of mysterious ihat amused, amazed and mystified the audience. The feats performed jncluded spiritualistic spirit-ualistic slate writing, the throwing! about of balls, tambourines and other! "props," lilting tables and chairs, putting put-ting on and taking off a coat, while 1 his hands were tied. Some of the' feats were performed with one of the I judges in the cabinet with the medium and the astonishment manifested bj the local men added greatly to the' amusement of the spectators. The' concluding feat was Ihat of table raining, rain-ing, and the "spooks," manipulating! the table, dragged six men, the four judges. Dr. Eddy and his assistant, nil about the stage with the palms of their hands laid upon that piece ot furniture. |
