After five months of decreased earnings compared com-pared with ayear ago, returns from all the railroads to the interstate commerce com-merce commission for May, made public pub-lic today, show an increase in net revenue rev-enue of approximately ?3,455,000, and an Increase of ?1, 100,000 in railway operating Income over May, 1916. Operating revenues totalled $345,-773,079, $345,-773,079, an Increase of approvimately $44,000,000. Expenses increased to $238,682,879, leaving net revenue from railway operation of $107,090,200.
