Show HSBOfS DEPART 01 SPECIAL1 TRAIN . . FOR LAGOON Ogden newsboys of the Standard and Examiner are scarce articles In the city today. But if one should Journey Jour-ney down to Lagoon, he would see more newsboys than he thought Ogden ever had. For today is the day of days for the youngsters, who are having their annual outing by the papers for which they work so well. About 100 boys gathered at the corner cor-ner of Twenty-fourth and Hudson avenue ave-nue at 8:30 this morning, from which point they went to the Bamberger station, sta-tion, where a special train was awaiting await-ing them, furnished by courtesy of the Bemberger management The outing is under the personal direction di-rection of A. L. Glasmann and H. Brandon Bran-don for the Standard and J. U. Eld-redge Eld-redge Jr., and H. Davis for the Examiner. Ex-aminer. At Lagoon the Ogden lads were met by about 200 boys from Salt Lake carriers for the different papers in that city. Everything in the way of amusement that could be thought of to delight the heart of a boy, had been planned by the committee and there is a royal time at Lagoon today. -The members of the committee went back In their minds to the time when fun was the only thing they had to think of, and, with that as a guiding star, arranged the program as though they were "Some of the fellers." The park has been turned over to the newsies and they will be allowed to do about as they please. The swimming swim-ming pool has been placed at their disposal dis-posal and they are making good use of it "Eats" were provided by the com-mitee com-mitee and, according to the latest re ports, they were holding out pretty well, although the youngsters were doing do-ing their utmost to get them out of sight. The boys will return to Ogden early in the evening. |
