Show OH STAGE LIE, CADILLAC EIGHTS In the judgment of Manager W. B. Taylor, of the Cadillac Auto company of Ogden, a good test of a car is in its operation over a mountain stage line. This test is being made over the stage line between Los Angeles and Bakersfield with six Cadillac Eights. The cars made the trip in less time than the railroad trains. The cars arc operated on a regular schedule, which calls for speed up to the limit which the state law permits. They carry from five to nine passengers passeng-ers on a trip and are always well laden with baggage. Each car makes a round trip every day, covering more than 200 miles. They make the run over the mountains entirely on high gear, which is impossible im-possible for most cars, especially when heavily loaded. The Cadillacs are averaging more than ten miles per gallon of gasoline, and better than 600 miles per gallon 0f oil. They are standing the test of this severe "service "serv-ice admirably, and before the year Is ended, those now on the road will have traveled more than 60,000 miles. |
