Show Brigham City Society (Special to The Standard.) Brigham City, August 5. Mrs. Henry Stranquist entertained Tuesday afternoon In honor of Miss Norma Tanner of Salt Lake, who Is spending a few days In Brigham and Ogden visiting relatives and friends. Among the guests were Mrs. C. O. Roskelley, Mrs. Ell Lee, Mrs. Irene Kirby, Mrs. Stewart Horseley; Miss Mattio West, Miss Lilly Stranquist, Miss Iretta Pet-ters, Pet-ters, Miss Olivo Jenson, Miss Louise Berg, Miss Hope Fishburn, Miss Lillian Lil-lian Wight, Miss Connie Jensen, Miss Mirl Anderson, Miss Laura Cooper, Miss Florence Lee, and Miss Marco Madsen. The Kindergarten club gave a successful suc-cessful jitney dance on the east lawn of the library park Tuesday evening. This was tho second event of tho kind given by the club for the purpose of raising funds for the children's playgrounds. play-grounds. Dr. and Mrs. R. T. Willcy and Dr. and Mrs. Waddups of Park City will leave Sunday for Lost River, Idaho, where they will spend two weeks on the ranch of Dr. Waddups. John D. Peters departed Sunday for Los Angeles, where he will spend two weeks visiting Mrs. Peters and Mr. and Mrs. Oleen N. Stohl, who are spending the summer there. Mrs. O. C. Jacobsen returned home from Ogden Monday, where she has been spending a month visiting her mother, M-rs. AJaddox. Miss JUlia Maddox, her sister, accompanied her to Brigham. ' Mr. and Mrs. Harold C. Day and son, Chapin, and Attorney and Mrs. William J. Lowo and little daughter left Monday for Yellowstone park in an automobile. The party will be gone about two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. George Anderson and Mrs. Watkins have gone to Bear Lake for a ten days' outing. Mrs. W. I. Hargis and daughters, Mrs. B. Hays of Grand Island, Neb., and Miss Ruth Hargis of this city, are spending several days over at Bear Lake. Young have returned from an extended extend-ed visit to Fish Lake and Richfield, where Mrs. Henderson visited her mother, Mrs. Wright, a portion ot the time. Miss Esta Ensign left Saturday evening for Berkeley, where tshe will take a special course at the University of California. While in the university city Miss Ensign will be the guest of her sister, Mrs. Paul Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Goodspeed of Salt Lake were guests at luncheon at the Hotel Boothe Saturday afternon. Mrs, Goodspeed was formerly Miss Lavon Pierce of this city. They were en route to Yellowstone by automobile. automo-bile. Mrs. O. Parley Bates of Oakley, Idaho, is spending the week at the home of her mother, Mrs. Josephine Knudson. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Patten and daughters, Gertrude and Odel, and Clarence Patten of St. Anthony, Idaho, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. Frank Bowring Saturday. The following young folks of this city and 'friends from outside, made up a canyon party and departed Wednesday morning for Bear Lake, where they will rusticate for a week or ten days. In the party were Misses Zola Call, Marie Birdeaux of Logan, Bessie Morrison, Llllle Stranquist, Fay Hamson. Rhoda King of Garland. Berma Hansen; Eldred Hatch, Leslie Young, Parker Hatch, Jay Jeppson, Reynold Watkins, Robert Jeppson and William Nebeker of Willard. Mrs. David Mattson of Salt Lake was the guest of Mijb. A. Lisle Eddy Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. Scott Jenson have returned from an extended auto trip to Idaho and tho Yellowstone park. Leory Hadley has returned from an extended trip through southeastern Oregon. Ephralm Johnson and Harvey Pierce of Salt Iake are spending their vacation :in Brigham visiting their relatives and friends. Iverson and Mrs. Charles Wilson spent three days of the week In Malad visiting relatives and friends. Miss Mary Hoist entertained Tuesday Tues-day evening in honor of Mrs. Carl F. Nelson of Malad. Present were Mrs. J. Eli Jensen, Mrs. Hyrum Petersen, Mrs. Ernest P. Horsley, Mrs. Mary Kelley, Mrs. Earl Anderson, Mrs. N. C. Hols and Mrs. Carl Nelson. A. C. Colley, director of agricultural extension work in the state of New Mexico, arrived in Brigham early In tho week and will spend .several days here visling Mrs. Cooley, who Is spending the summer at the homo of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Henry C.
